Rare built a colorful 3D platformer that looks aimed at children and then filled it with swearing, drinking, sex jokes, and gore. You play Conker, a red squirrel who wakes up hungover, gets lost trying to find his way home, and stumbles into a kingdom of cartoon animals. He fights a giant talking turd, a Nazi-coded teddy bear army, and a final boss lifted straight from a famous sci-fi film. The platforming is solid Rare craft, but the point is the comedy: a constant parody of movies, mascot games, and good taste itself. It was a commercial flop on the Nintendo 64 and became a cult favorite.
