Zoé had spent two decades becoming Mexico's arena rock band when they released this in 2018 and named it after Aztlán, the mythical land the Mexica people are said to have left before founding Tenochtitlan. The songs are synth-heavy, slow building, and sung in León Larregui's floating falsetto. Azul, the lead single, became one of the band's biggest songs. The record looks up at space and back at Mexico at the same time.
