For their second album Daft Punk became robots, gave interviews in costume, and stopped pretending to be cool about the music they grew up on. Discovery is built from seventies and eighties disco, soft rock, and funk samples, polished into something glossy and joyful. One More Time, sung by Romanthony through heavy auto-tune, became one of the defining dance tracks of the decade. They paired the whole album with a feature-length anime film, Interstella 5555, so every song doubles as a scene.
