Mildlife are a quartet from Melbourne, and this 2018 debut is six tracks in forty minutes of what they do on stage: jazz fusion chops applied to disco grooves, with flute, analog synthesizers, and soft vocals run through effects. The Magnificent Moon opens the record at almost nine minutes and became their signature. It won best album at the 2018 Worldwide FM Awards, which tells you the audience: jazz listeners who dance.
