The second Mildlife album, from September 2020, trades some of the debut's sprawl for focus: six tracks again, but shorter solos, stronger hooks, and a cleaner mix. Rare Air opens it as the closest thing the band has to a single, and Citations stretches to nearly nine minutes for anyone who feared they had gone pop. It reached the Australian top ten and won the ARIA Award for best jazz album, a category it only half belongs in.
