Satou is twenty-two, unemployed, and has barely left his room in years. He decides his condition is the work of a secret organization called the NHK, a delusion that lets him avoid the real reasons. A neighbor offers to cure him through a vague project, and the two spiral into worse ideas. Gonzo adapts Tatsuhiko Takimoto's novel into a comedy that keeps slipping into something darker. It is funny until it is not, and it understands isolation from the inside rather than mocking it from outside.
