A boy wakes up in a crumbling ruin next to Trico, a huge creature that is part dog, part bird, part cat. The two of you have to climb out together. You solve the platforming, Trico does the big jumps and reaches the high places, and you call to it to come or move. The catch, which is the whole idea, is that Trico is an animal, not a tool. It hesitates, gets distracted, refuses, then comes through when it matters. It took genDESIGN years to ship on PS4 in 2016 and the result is a game about earning an animal's trust.
